Thanksgiving is a day of gratitude. Family and friends gather together, often to share a traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. What about those who simply can’t smile? They have dental pain.

    Dr. Jonathan Frankel

Eight years ago, Dr. Jonathan Frankel, a native of Toledo, Ohio decided to bring smiles back to those less fortunate. The day before Thanksgiving he opens his Toledo location dental office and offers free dental care.

“We are so grateful to do what we love at Frankel Dentistry.  Dr. Puhl and I, our associates and staff enjoy serving others”, states Frankel. “What better way is there to show our gratitude and thankfulness than by encouraging others by giving free dental care”,  he asks.

    Free Dental Care

Each year the Frankel Team starts Thanksgiving a day early by donating their time and talent toward others.  Frankel Dentistry offers dental care free of charge on a first come, first see basis. Come early, the event is scheduled from 7:30 am until 12 noon on Wednesday, November 22nd at 5012 Talmadge Road.

Olivia Slates, dental hygienist, commented, “Free Dental Day is the highlight of the year for many of us. Our free dental day patients are always so appreciative. The smiles mean the world to us. It just wouldn’t seem like Thanksgiving if we didn’t help those in need”.

    What to Know about Crowns

A dental crown is a restoration that is cemented to your tooth that is used to strengthen damage caused by wear, decay or injury. Crowns help improve the appearance of a tooth and recover function.

Your dentist may recommend a crown for you if you:

    • Have a fractured tooth
    • Need to protect a tooth from breaking
    • Need to replace a large filling
    • Cap a tooth that has a root canal

Crowns have been around for a long time in the dental world. With technology, the procedure keeps improving and we are pleased to be using the latest technology that allows us to do same-day crowns.

Frankel Dentistry uses the CEREC machine which is a device that can create a permanent crown perfectly formulated to fit your tooth in about an hour.  Patients love this new technology as it eliminates the need for temporary crowns, which saves patients time and discomfort.

The staff at Frankel Dentistry design a computer generated crown that fits your tooth precisely. Then CEREC blocks are milled into a beautiful crown. The color of your tooth is matched. Once the machine competes the crown, it is polished and immediately placed onto your tooth. You are then free to leave our office with your problems solved and your smile looking as good as new.

  3. Now you see it. Now you don’t. Dental Insurance Benefits

Got Insurance? Be Sure to Use it!

The year is almost over and that means you only have a few months left this year to use your dental benefits. Have you been putting off a dental procedure? Have you been seen for your regular exam yet? Now is the time to make the time to put your dental health first.

Dr. Frankel and Dr. Puhl urge you to take advantage of your dental benefits — you are paying for them! If you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), the dollars are just sitting there waiting for you to use them — and this money will expire, so use it or lose it!

If you have any questions about your benefit policy, our staff is more than willing to go over any questions you may have. Act quickly! The holidays are a busy time, so if you need to schedule treatment, get an appointment on the calendar.
