  1. Hooray! It’s almost 2017! What are your Resolutions?

    Jon Frankel, DDS

The new year is all about a new start, new habits and new promises. Your health should always be at the top of the list. Here are some resolutions inspired by Dr. Frankel and team that you could add to your resolutions list:

Get your teeth cleaned! Sometimes it can be a struggle to make the appointment, call today to get a time convenient for you!

Brighten your smile with teeth whitening.

Consider implants or veneers if you are looking to improve your smile.

Having pain while eating? Schedule that treatment appointment to get that stubborn cavity filled.

Make a pledge to consume less sugary foods and drinks and more fruits and vegetables.

Exercise! Not only is it good for your body, but will help your overall health – including your mouth.

Give up bad habits like smoking and nail biting.

  2. Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Are your teeth on the naughty or nice list? We all know that the holidays are filled with cookies, pies and candy canes. To keep your teeth on the nice list this year, consider the following tips when baking your traditional holiday treats.

    • Search for recipes that contain less sugar, such as, “low sugar chocolate chip cookies” or “healthy apple pie”
    • Consider using natural alternative sweeteners – check out this list for suggestions to help you reduce sugar in your recipes
    • Implement a new tradition – instead of cinnamon rolls for brunch, try oatmeal muffins!

Remember – if you are trying out a new recipe, make it for yourself first to see if you need to tweak any of the ingredients. Treats can be consumed in moderation, so indulge responsibly!

  3.          No Sneezing Matter

Coughing and sneezing is an obvious sign of a cold. A bright shiny red nose is hard to hide. Unfortunately, dental decay is not always evident

                       Dry Rot

Tooth decay is similar wood dry rot. The once solid tooth becomes chalky, spongy and eventually chips and breaks

                         Dental Visit

Seeing your dental professionals at least twice a year allows you to take care of small issues before they become big problems. A little change in habits or home care can save teeth! Unlike a cold, cavities can be prevented.

    Happy, Healthy Smile

Tooth decay is the 2nd most common disease in the US behind the common cold. Therefore, it is always important that you visit your dentist regularly, ensuring that your mouth, teeth, and gums are healthy.

  4. Dental Smiles

Every year, the day before Thanksgiving, the Frankel and Frankel & Puhl Dental team members gather at the Toledo location.  They open the doors for Free Dental Day. Dr. Jonathan Frankel explains, “We feel Thanksgiving is a special time of the year. Family and friends get together. Our goal is to help folks enjoy a pain-free Thanksgiving.”

Patients are seen at no charge.

While others are stuffing turkeys and preparing their home for guests the Frankel Dental Group is donating their time, talents and skills to help the under-served with free dental care. What drives them to donate their time and services year after year?

    I love helping my community.

Helping people in need is a gift to myself.

The people are so appreciative and gracious. I love it.

It is a beautiful experience sharing personal stories and serving the kindest people imaginable.

Smiling faces. It just doesn’t get better than this.

We have so much to be grateful for I love to give back.

Helping others by giving back is fun. I bring my little sister every year to cheer us on. She loves it!

It is awesome to help people who cannot afford treatment!

Free Dental Day is just the right thing to do. I feel so blessed in my life. I look forward to helping those who are less fortunate.
