Toledo, Ohio has it all. A small town vibe which means no traffic and friendly folks. A world class art museum, a stellar symphony, the Midwest’s finest metro parks, a great zoo, professional baseball and hockey teams and a dental office that cares about patients mean this city lives it’s motto, You Will Do Better In Toledo!
By the way, who’s a dentist’s favorite patient…a hockey player! It is not just the sports guards. It is an exciting sport with exceptional athletes. What could be more fun?
This past weekend, Dr. Frankel and Dr. Puhl took their group to enjoy one of Toledo’s best activities; a Toledo Walleye hockey game! Spending time with CatTrick and Spike brought this dental office together. Doctors, healthcare providers and staff filled an entire section with the best smiles. Taking a group of dental employees to a hockey game might seem strange, right? But not to Dr. Frankel. Supporting and enjoying the Toledo area and each other is what this dental practice is all about.
At Frankel Dentistry, they consider their employees part of their family. This bond is seen by the get-togethers organized by Dr. Frankel and Dr. Puhl. Past activities have included kayaking, ax-throwing at Axe 419, staff dinners, and attending ProMedica’s Summer Concert Series featuring Diana Ross.
The time they spend outside of the office is always fun. They eat. They laugh. They dance. They smile. They celebrate. But most importantly, they have a good time. The fun times and stories are shared with families and friends. Frankel Dentistry has been making great memories since 1946.
They brush. They floss. Oh boy, do they know how to smile!
The best group of doctors, healthcare providers and staff could be found on December 13, 2019 at local restaurant Carlos Poco Loco. The event was their annual Holiday Office Party. Nearly 90 strong, they gathered from both the Toledo and Maumee locations of Frankel & Puhl and Frankel Dentistry. This group is caring, kind and fun!
Dr. Frankel is Master of Ceremonies for the annual raffle and gift giving. He was introduced with the Frankel Jingle aptly named “Dr. Frankel wants to see your smile.” Dr. Frankel and Dr. Puhl generously support their teams with several yearly events ranging from kayaking to axe throwing to personal growth seminars. The Holiday Party is the highlight of a year dedicated to serving all with an always better philosophy for this talented group of professionals.
If you could capture a feeling from this group and their owner/mentors, Drs. Frankel and Puhl, it would be gratitude. While sharing an enjoyable event with each other including a delicious Cuban and Mexican Food Buffet, they know what makes it worth celebrating, caring for the dental health of their patients.
you would, raise your glass of water, cup of coffee, your cerveza, margarita or
mojito and make a toast to Changing Lives a Smile at a Time.
It may be cold outside but this dental practice turns up the heat when it comes to caring and educating their dental family.

TOLEDO, OHIO – Why do vampires brush and floss their teeth so often? So they don’t have bat breath.
We all know that children may receive money from the tooth fairy, but did you know that children can trade in their Halloween candy for cash? Frankel Dentistry is pleased to be offering their annual Halloween Candy buyback to the Toledo community. Trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to Frankel Dentistry’s Talmadge Road and Keystone Drive locations and receive $1.00 per pound.
Candy, candy everywhere, what’s a parent to do? Halloween is a fun holiday for children to dress up in costumes and participate in trick-or-treating, but sometimes they return with more candy than their own good! Frankel Dentistry wants to remind children that too much sugar can lead to cavities and unhealthy habits. Candy, as well as hurting children’s teeth, can lead to hyperactivity and weight gain. “Visiting your Dentist twice a year and brushing daily are preventative measures, but doing away with excess sweets all together will really give your teeth a healthy boost,” says Dr. Frankel.
Children may bring their leftover, wrapped Halloween candy to Dr. Frankel for $1.00 per pound. Dr. Frankel donates the treats to a local group of Military Parents to be sent to Toledo troops who are serving overseas. Last year, Frankel Dentistry was able to donate over a ton of candy to our troops – let’s try to increase that amount this year!
Stop by either location on the day after Halloween on Thursday, November 1st through Tuesday, November 6th for candy collection. Check their website, www.jonfrankeldentistry.com for business hours.

Spring is the season for cleaning. Check out these tips from Frankel Dentistry.
Spring Cleaning for Your Health
Spring is here and it’s a great time to clean out your house. Rainy day? Perfect time to get some extra cleaning down before the weather gets nice. Make a list and prioritize what you want to accomplish as your health should always be at the top of the list!
Here are some suggested areas to clean that can affect your health:
1) Toothbrush – when is the last time you replaced yours? It’s recommend to replace our toothbrush at least every 2 months and more often if sick.
2) Bathroom – wipe down and disinfect anything and everything in your bathroom – this includes toothbrush holders and medicine cabinets that may touch your oral hygiene products .
3) Food pantry – is your pantry and fridge stocked with healthy snacks? Now is a good time to go through any old expired items or items you wish to trade in for healthier alternatives.
4) Carpets – winter can track some much dirt and dust and really affect your health if you have allergies.
5) Dusting – clean under the bed, top of the bookshelves, picture frames and any place where dust can collect.
Your total health affects the health of your mouth, so make sure to keep both in the best shape.
Toledo Dentist Jon Frankel loves what he does. Like his father before him, caring for the dental health of his Northwest Ohio patients is a true passion. His dental profession and office staff enjoy “Changing lives a Smile at a Time” as well.
It is readily apparent Frankel Dentistry patients actually look forward to appointments. The combination of high dental technology being treated like family brings folks back for more! A healthy mouth promotes a healthy body. The Frankel Dental Group is certainly making an impact on lives. It is reflected in what their patients have to say.
I came into the appointment with general anxiety. Somehow, my dental insurance had lapses which exacerbated the anxiety. However, the front desk understood, and though I was running late, the team at John Frankel was accommodating. The dental hygienist (whose name I am sad to say I forgot) was so sweet. She “put out” by my anxiety. I did not feel judged and I truly felt like she was there to help me. By the end of the appointment, even though I need a root canal, I felt better. This contributed to my well-being through out the day and has encouraged me that kindness, and the way we treat others does have a ripple effect. Thank you for your care! It was a pleasant experience, which I am especially thankful for. I am so happy that I am a new patient here! I made the right/best choice!
Super —Super — Debbie is great as well as the other staff. Did not see Dr. Frankel, but thanks for the reserved parking space.
Dr. Di Terlizzi is gentle, sweet, personable, caring, and talented. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.
I’m a new patient with some long overdue mouth issues. The entire staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my comfort. I am impressed by the professionalism and rapport the staff has. Clearly, this is a positive environment to work in and the results show in how patients are treated.
I always get excellent service whenever I go there the staff truly makes you feel very welcome.
Twenty months seems like a lifetime, to a now almost 16 year old, who waited so long for the day he could get his braces off. That day finally came and unfortunately he didn’t take as good of care of his teeth as we all thought he did. It was just hours later, with his now perfectly straight teeth, did he have a cavity that caused a break in one of his front teeth…straight teeth with a nice chip right in the front. I think we both panicked, thinking how fast can we get this fixed? I called Dr. Frankel’s hoping to get a fast appointment. This was a Thursday afternoon; I expected something later the next week or in a few weeks. Thankfully they scheduled him for that following Monday, but better yet, Zack called back the very next day to get him in due to a cancellation. It was less than 24 hours later he was in the office, Dr. Hemanth, who was as kind as can be, had a plan together and his amazing assistant Anne was putting a temporary filling in until a root canal could be scheduled. The root canal was later scheduled for that following Tuesday and I now have a very happy soon to be 16 year old who can smile without feeling self conscience. Thank you, thank you very much to everyone at Dr. Frankel’s office from the front desk staff to the phone room to the Doctor and the Assistants who made my sons issue your priority. Sincerely- One Thankful Mom
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, I was able to get my appointment to fix a chipped tooth the next day.
