Since 1946 Frankel Dentistry has been changing lives a smile at a time. It is not just the patients who are smiling. The doctors, healthcare providers, and staff seem to be continually happy. The best dental experience they provide is not only for their patients but each other. What makes smiling go viral at this Ohio dental office?

Weekly meetings,  monthly training, continuing education opportunities, and quarterly events help the employees at both the Toledo and Maumee locations really get to know each other. Core processes include conflict resolution and communication refinement. The entire office is currently looking at Kim Scott’s Radical Candor communication model.

Frankel Dentistry makes a real impact!

    Who is your dentist?

Don’t be rude but ask to look in the wallet or purse of a Frankel Dentistry team member. You will find a business card just waiting to be shared. Referred new patients receive a complimentary comprehensive exam with radiographs and oral cancer screening. The doctors, healthcare providers, and staff at Frankel Dentistry can’t help themselves but bring work home. It is too important. They know the impact they can make through dental care. They appreciate what Frankel Dentistry does for their families and patients. It is just too good to not share.

  3. Toledo has an unspoken treasure. It is not the Toledo Museum of Art, the Toledo Symphony, or the Toledo Zoo. It is not the Toledo Mudhens or the Toledo Walleyes. It is something you sense but cannot explain. It’s the people. Frankel Dentistry is a perfect example of what puts Toledo, Ohio on the map.

Serve All is a strong value at Frankel Dentistry.

Since 1946 Frankel Dentistry has served the community through dentistry with an always better approach. During the current pandemic this commitment to others continues. The caring doctors and staff recently received this message.

“I would recommend Frankel Dentistry to all my friends, family members, and anyone in need of a good honest clean dentist. They were able to help my husband on a moment’s notice, they accepted cash payment. They are handling the overflow of dental issues coming from the hospital due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Frankel Dentistry went above and beyond for my husband, and honor veterans. I thank you very much for your time, you changed my husband’s life.” Amber S

    Grateful to Serve All

One of the things that sets Frankel Dentistry apart from the rest is the people. The doctors, staff and healthcare providers go, as Amber stated, “over and beyond.” It is their culture. They wouldn’t have it any other way.

At Frankel Dentistry, the main goal has always been to protect the health of their patients, their team, and their community. During the COVID-19 pandemic they are seeing patients with dental emergencies only.

If you have a dental emergency, please contact them and they will take care of you. If you’re in dental pain, please call or text them.

At Frankel Dentistry as in Toledo, Ohio, it is the people. They are Changing Lives a Smile at a Time.

  4. Communication and collaboration are hallmarks of a Toledo, Ohio Dental Practice, Frankel Dentistry. The owner/dentist, Dr. Jon Frankel found a clever way to check in on his doctors, healthcare providers and staff in the time of COVID-19.

They want to keep dental emergencies out of the hospital emergency rooms to serve those with the coronavirus.

Both locations Toledo and Maumee are open to dental emergencies. There are doctors, healthcare providers and staff to take care of you in case of a dental emergency.

This means many of the Frankel Dental family are home in self-isolation. Dr. Frankel made sure each and every employee was well via ZOOM last weekend.

    Serve All – Always Better –  G.E.T.

If you have ever visited Frankel Dentistry you must have imagined this tele-call was filled with laughter. One of the highlights was a dental hygienist hiding under her bed covers so her children would not find her! She has been enjoying constant contact with her kids but missed her dental family as well.

  5. Toledo, Ohio has it all. A small town vibe which means no traffic and friendly folks. A world class art museum, a stellar symphony, the Midwest’s finest metro parks, a great zoo, professional baseball and hockey teams and a dental office that cares about patients mean this city lives it’s motto, You Will Do Better In Toledo!

This past weekend, Dr. Frankel and Dr. Puhl took their group to enjoy one of Toledo’s best activities; a Toledo Walleye hockey game! Spending time with CatTrick and Spike brought this dental office together. Doctors, healthcare providers and staff filled an entire section with the best smiles. Taking a group of dental employees to a hockey game might seem strange, right? But not to Dr. Frankel. Supporting and enjoying the Toledo area and each other is what this dental practice is all about.

The time they spend outside of the office is always fun. They eat. They laugh. They dance. They smile. They celebrate. But most importantly, they have a good time. The fun times and stories are shared with families and friends. Frankel Dentistry has been making great memories since 1946.

The best group of doctors, healthcare providers and staff could be found on December 13, 2019 at local restaurant Carlos Poco Loco. The event was their annual Holiday Office Party.  Nearly 90 strong, they gathered from both the Toledo and Maumee locations of Frankel & Puhl and Frankel Dentistry. This group is caring, kind and fun!

    Great Smiles!

Dr. Frankel is Master of Ceremonies for the annual raffle and gift giving. The Holiday Party is the highlight of a year dedicated to serving all with an always better philosophy for this talented group of professionals.

  7. Frankel Dentistry has two locations, Toledo and Maumee employing close to 90 dental professionals. If you ask them, they will tell you they wouldn’t work anywhere else. How is that possible?

The clues are obvious from the moment you contact either location. There are systems in place that make serving the community through dentistry efficient and convenient. Once at one of the offices, it is clear, these dental professionals love what they do and know what they are doing.

Frankel Dentistry has defined the best dental experience. They live it.

How is it possible they are always better? Continued training and constant communication through the EOS business model L10 meetings eliminate big problems by addressing small issues. Recently the entire group read What the Heck is EOS?  They made it into a book club activity. Chapters were reviewed and discussed together.

  8. Pamela Weitzel

    Celebrating 20 years of dedication

In a world where job changes are frequent Frankel Dentistry is different. Recently an employee retired after nearly 25 years. Several staff members have accrued decades of service through dentistry. This quality of dedicated staff sets Frankel Dentistry apart. Frankel Dentistry is known for the best dental experience because of its people.   Realizing one of their own had a 20 year anniversary the doctors and staff decided on a surprise celebration.

Pamela is a dental hygienist. She has lived in several states and abroad. Her frequent moves gave her distinctive experience in and out of dentistry. In the past, she has been a pharmaceutical sales representative and a personal shopper. Her vocation has always been serving through dentistry. Once she became part of the Frankel family, it was meant to be. She began her Frankel Dentistry career by reminding patients of their recare and later by providing dental patient care as a dental hygienist. Currently, she serves by delivering dental education in treatment consultations and through marketing. When asked why she has stayed so long, Pamela was quick to answer, “I have always enjoyed caring for others. Dental health promotes general health. Dentistry is a perfect fit. It is always getting better through either science, art, psychology or business. Most importantly, I was so impressed by Dr. Sheldon Frankel. He was not only an exceptional dentist but an incredible person as well. He shared his caring wisdom with patients and staff alike. I am still at Frankel Dentistry because of him.”

The celebration was held at Toledo’s Beirut Restaurant. The back room was filled with Frankel Dentistry and Frankel & Puhl staff. It was meaningful and fun to see the woman dedicated to communication become speechless. The night was filled with positive words from staff and Drs. Jon Frankel and Amber Puhl.

It is certain, Dr. Sheldon Frankel is smiling somewhere.

  9. Our Story

Toledo is more than a great town. It is a town that supports small businesses. Dr. Sheldon Frankel opened the doors to Frankel Dentistry in 1946 knowing this was going to be home. Originally from Manhattan, New York, Dr. Frankel graduated from Ohio State Dental school and settled in with his wife, Toledo native, Ervine Frankel, a beautiful, Toledo Hospital trained registered nurse.

The Frankels grew their family and dental practice. Eldest daughter, Karen, became a dental hygienist graduating from the four year Ohio State Dental School program. Youngest son Jonathan graduated from Ohio State Dental School in 1996 and joined Frankel Dentistry with his father’s same always better attitude.

This is a small business that serves all by giving back twice a year with Free Dentistry and paying it forward by buying back Halloween candy and sending it to local troops. They have defined the best dental experience and continue to perfect it through high tech dentistry and continuous education for all staff from doctors to assistants to call center specialists and insurance verification employees. Frankel Dentistry wants to change lives a smile at a time.

Call for an appointment and be guided to the best dental experience. From the minute you walk in the door until the moment you walk out, you know you and your dental health are their top priority. You will find smiling faces and hear laughter throughout the office.

This local small business remembers it’s roots. A plaque honoring Sheldon Frankel, DDS greets all entering the Toledo location. To serve the community more there are two locations, Toledo and Maumee. Frankel Dentistry exemplifies small business done right. They are grateful to serve by encouraging dental health. You can almost imagine the late Dr. Sheldon Frankel smiling at the progress his small business has made in Toledo, Ohio.
